Enchanting Slovenia

Slovenia was truly enchanting and quite surprising. I honestly didn't know everything this incredible country had to offer before going there. Thermal spas, Bled Lake, hiking, skiing, food and culture. The people are so friendly and proud of their country. Slovenia is a travel destination you don't want to miss.

Making Our Way to Italy

With only a few weeks left of travel before returning home for an indefinite stay, we made our way to the Dolomite Mountains in Italy. But, not before having a few additional adventures namely; hiking the Matterhorn in Switzerland, taking a cable car up the Aiguille du Midi, meeting friends and watching rugby in Bordeaux, eating the best pizza in Nice and Milan, and finally observing the “Transhumance” in the Dolomites.

Have you ever travelled somewhere that you truly felt at home? Home in the sense that you “found” your people, your culture and maybe, just maybe you had been there in another lifetime? I did. I found it in Scotland. We had a whirlwind tour of the Highlands, Glasgow, Edburgh, Appin and Oban. I’m in love with the people, culture and beauty of Scotland. You will be too - book your trip.

A Week In Ireland

We toured Ireland in “Avis”, our cargo van, and had the most memorable adventures of our travels. We picked up Avis in Dublin and took off to explore Greystones, Wicklow National Park, Tramore, Dingle and Malin Beg. We drove the famous Ring of Kerry and Conor Pass and hiked Carrauntioohil, Cliffs of Moher and the Sliag Liam Walk. We slept in the most remote areas and woke up to the beautiful sunrises. This trip fed my soul.

Amsterdam

Everywhere you turn, there is a bicycle either coming at you or trying to get around you! It’s quite remarkable really - the culture that has been built around them in the great city of Amsterdam. This trip was very special as my good friend, Jan Vink, helped me plan our few days in the Netherlands. His childhood memories are quite sweet as is our friendship as portrayed in our communications when creating an itinerary for our trip to Amsterdam. Enjoy!

Although a bit edgy in nature, Berlin is a must visit to gain perspective to the past and present culture. It’s a walkable city or enjoy a bike ride to see all the landmarks and the remaining Berlin Wall. And Munich - it’s charming in its own right - especially the Marienplatz.

Our time in Bosnia and Herzegovina was a complete surprise - a good one. We didn’t plan on going to Bosnia and Herzegovina but are sure glad we did as it solidified our thoughts and perspectives on the war that we watched on television as young adults. The tumultuous impact of the war and the rebuilding efforts are sights to be seen by everyone.
