March Break in our New Trailer!

We are living in perplexing times right now. Brent and I are in Tobermory living in our new home for an indefinite amount of time. Our travel plans got changed as we were originally supposed to go to Hatteras, North Carolina, so Brent could kiteboard, but with the government bans and advisories, we decided to leave Toronto for the North. It's important that everyone practice the new procedures of self-isolating and social distancing and this is a good place for that to happen.

We drove North on Sunday with the intent of hiking the Bruce Trail in the Bruce Peninsula area. I've been organizing and loading up the trailer over the last few weeks getting ready to go South. After switching gears to go North, I added more blankets and winter clothes to get us through.

Brent bought a generator knowing that we wouldn't have hookups, so at least we could run everything, including the plugs. We were going to buy a generator at some point, but we didn't think that would be for awhile. It's good to have so we don't have to stay in campgrounds all the time. We bought a quiet one; but I still can't sleep with it on. We've relied on it to charge the battery in short amounts of time.

So we spent the first night at the Visitor Center and the second at the Provincial Park. The same nice Park Ranger asked us to leave both sites quoting that winter camping is for tents only. We called around to some campgrounds, and Kathie and Ron from Mountain Trout Camp, opened up a site for us, even though they were closed for the winter. They provided us with a shower, toilet, hydro and internet. Honestly, they are the salt of the earth. In the midst of all this craziness around us, there are lessons to be learned, and one of them is to treat each other with dignity and respect; something Kathie and Ron have done!

We've been hiking the Bruce and the surrounding area. You can catch the action on our Youtube Channel: Brent & Kelly

Also, we want to thank everyone who subscribed to our channel. We've reached over 100 subscribers so I was able to make our own URL for the channel. Thanks for your support everyone.

Please be safe during this very uncertain time.
