Moving Day!
It is a beautiful Saturday morning and I'm sitting in the backyard just finishing my breakfast. As I look to my right, I get a glimpse of my pink roses, a sure sign of mid June.
Today, is our "official" move to Tillsonburg; our belongings, not us. We rented a UHAUL yesterday and my friend's strapping young son, and friends loaded up our stuff. Twenty year olds can do this much better than fifty year olds with bad backs and knees.
It didn't take long really - only about an hour. We didn't have a lot left. We've given a lot away already to friends and Goodwill. The rest went in the Friday garbage and recycling pick up. I'm proud that we got 30+ years of stuff in a 6"X 12" trailer and a bedroom at my brother's house. I feel lighter already.
In about an hour we will take the drive to Tillsonburg to drop off a load at my sister's house, and then my brother's abode. The last one I hope. Next weekend, we will take a small amount to Brent's mom and dad's too.
I feel quite relaxed right now and I'm going to enjoy the day. It's been hellish trying to finish up work items. I have to complete typical year end items that need to be done when moving schools (or leaving in my case), but I'm doing it in an atypical time. Covid has really knocked everyone on their feet and we are all done with it and distance learning. Many in my community have lost their jobs, their business and some have even lost loved ones during this pandemic. We need to keep each other in our thoughts and prayers. This too shall pass; hopefully sooner than later.
