The Adventure Begins!

It's Monday, June 29, 2020...I think. Everyone warned me the days would seamlessly blend into each other and it's already begun for Brent and I. Quite honestly, I think I can't remember small details like dates because it's been a whirlwind of a month, especially the last two weeks. My mind has been a jumble.

Between the two of us, we managed to finish work - a tremendous task in itself, completed the last of the packing and made a few trips to Kingston and Tillsonburg where the remaining household items are being stored, and hosted quite a few friends for our final farewells. I honestly don't know how we did it all. Each day our bodies reminded us that we are not 25 anymore.

But it was all worth it. On Saturday, June 27th at 10ish, we drove out of our driveway to begin our new adventure. Our first stop was Sudbury - I know a few of our friends laughed at our choice of destination - but, we wanted to visit our friends, Lisa and Rick. We arrived in Sudbury late afternoon and headed for a quick peek of the iconic Big Nickel. I remember visiting it when I was younger. Unfortunately, everything is closed because of Covid, but you can still make your way up to get a photo. When things open up again, I suggest visiting Dynamic Earth and Science North because I've heard they are great attractions, especially for the family.

After a great visit and dinner with Lisa and Rick, we woke up early Sunday morning and made our way to Manitoulin Island via Hwy 17 W (Trans Canada). Currently, we are staying in Providence Bay in the Providence Bay Trailer and Tent Campground. It's right across from Lake Huron. Jilly loves LH. It is cold and clear. My dad's side of the family was from the Island and we used to come here in the summer. I haven't been here in 40 years, so it's taking me back. We connected with my cousin Bob and we will be visiting him tomorrow. He lives in my grandma's house. I am so looking forward to seeing him and catching up.

We only have our camp site for two nights, so we are going to park in Bob's driveway or my other cousin Jeff invited us to use his camp. We are going to check it all out this afternoon. Again, no timelines; just like we envisioned.
