Making Our Way to Italy
With only a few weeks left of travel before returning home for an indefinite stay, we made our way to the Dolomite Mountains in Italy. But, not before having a few additional adventures namely; hiking the Matterhorn in Switzerland, taking a cable car up the Aiguille du Midi, meeting friends and watching rugby in Bordeaux, eating the best pizza in Nice and Milan, and finally observing the “Transhumance” in the Dolomites.
A Week In Ireland
We toured Ireland in “Avis”, our cargo van, and had the most memorable adventures of our travels. We picked up Avis in Dublin and took off to explore Greystones, Wicklow National Park, Tramore, Dingle and Malin Beg. We drove the famous Ring of Kerry and Conor Pass and hiked Carrauntioohil, Cliffs of Moher and the Sliag Liam Walk. We slept in the most remote areas and woke up to the beautiful sunrises. This trip fed my soul.
The Cotswolds
We spent a few days in the Cotswolds exploring Bath, Stonehenge and hiking parts of The Cotswolds Way. It was terrific visiting the fairytale villages and being in nature - although quite muddy!
Amsterdam
Everywhere you turn, there is a bicycle either coming at you or trying to get around you! It’s quite remarkable really - the culture that has been built around them in the great city of Amsterdam. This trip was very special as my good friend, Jan Vink, helped me plan our few days in the Netherlands. His childhood memories are quite sweet as is our friendship as portrayed in our communications when creating an itinerary for our trip to Amsterdam. Enjoy!
Hiking the Alps
Hiking in the Alps turned out to be exactly what the doctor ordered. Sunshine and fresh mountain air. We hiked both Innsbruck and Liechtenstein and both areas are now on our top travel places to go!
Germany
Although a bit edgy in nature, Berlin is a must visit to gain perspective to the past and present culture. It’s a walkable city or enjoy a bike ride to see all the landmarks and the remaining Berlin Wall. And Munich - it’s charming in its own right - especially the Marienplatz.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Our time in Bosnia and Herzegovina was a complete surprise - a good one. We didn’t plan on going to Bosnia and Herzegovina but are sure glad we did as it solidified our thoughts and perspectives on the war that we watched on television as young adults. The tumultuous impact of the war and the rebuilding efforts are sights to be seen by everyone.
Montenegro Road Trips
Expect the unexpected when visiting Montenegro. It’s got an incredible beach area in Ulcinj, beautiful Old Towns along the coast including the ever popular Kotor and the most stunning scenery and forest in Durmitor National Park and Lake Skadar. With old school values and developing tourism, it really should be on your list of destinations to visit.

Jerusalem
Save lots of time to visit the Holy City - not just for the sites but to engage with the people. From the people, you will learn about the past and present day struggles and joys.
Dead Sea Israel
Floating in the Dead Sea is truly a once in a life time experience as is hiking to the top of Masada, a UNESCO site, to catch the sun come over Jordan and the Dead Sea.
Golan to Nazareth Israel
We head North into the Golan to find sheep, ski hills, goats and wineries. What a dream for me! An overnight in Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee, and a stop in Nazareth, continues the biblical and historical tour of Israel.
Northern Israel
In Northern Israel, along the coast, you will find the small towns of Caesarea, Haifa and Akko rich in history and modern day life. It is worth renting a car for the drive.
Northwest Argentina
It’s a long trek to Northwest Argentina, but worth it. Here you will find breathtaking beauty in the landscape and people.
Iguazu Falls Argentina
Iguazu Falls is a must visit when in Argentina. It’s a heck of a journey from Buenos Aires, but well worth the trip!
Cumbuco Brazil
We begin the next chapter of our life in the small town of Cumbuco, Brazil. A small fishing village that caters to both locals seeking a vacation and international kite-boarders alike.
There is nothing else than now. There is neither yesterday, certainly, nor is there any tomorrow. How old must you be before you know that?
